Zendaya Enlists Harlem’s Apollo Theater for Tommy Hilfiger Collaboration

This is the second and final installation for the Zendaya x Tommy Hilfiger collaboration, and she made sure to leave a lasting impression. In partnership with renowned stylist, Law Roach, Zendaya expanded on the first collection that drew inspiration from the 1970s. There was an array of wide-brimmed fedoras, suits, and pussy bow blouses to keep onlookers wide-eyed and yearning for more.

The garments alone could have successfully conveyed the intended message. However, Zendaya decided to drive the point home by hosting the runway show at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem and casting mostly black models. The models came in multiple shapes, sizes, and ages (shoutout to JoAni Johnson!) to prove this capsule collection is just as diverse as the patterns – snakeskin, leopard, plaid, houndstooth, and polka dots.

If you are familiar with the personal styling of Zendaya, then you know her and Law Roach never play it safe! This fearlessness was applied to each model as many of them wore mixed prints and sheer, nipple-baring tops. The Zendaya x Tommy Hilfiger capsule collection is easily one of the best celebrity/fashion house collaborations.

Not only did this fun, high fashion collection elevate the Tommy Hilfiger brand from its usual sporty ‘90s aesthetic, but it was also consistent with the magic that we have seen Zendaya and Law Roach create for a while now and years to come.

These are my favorite looks from the collection:
