Whether your clothes hail from local thrift shops or are labeled with names of the industry’s most sought-after designers, Marlo Hampton stresses the importance of having confidence and personal style to achieve an amazing look regardless of ones budget.
As a child living with a single mother and two siblings, Marlo would be dressed head-to-toe in affordable finds from Florida’s Goodwill Community Foundation. Although her wardrobe may have been more inexpensive than her counterparts, Marlo remembers her and her siblings as the best dressed kids in the neighborhood and in school.
A stint on the popular franchise, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, gained Marlo thousands of admirers! Marlo is a realist and admitted that she was not always shown in the the best light on the reality television show.
However, the positives always outweighed the negatives, if any, when it came to commentary regarding Marlo’s style. Men and women from all around the world feign for Marlo’s avant-garde tips. This inspired her to create a fashion seminar, The ART of STYLE with Marlo! Marlo’s first stop was in New York City at Punto Space. The seminar covers 6 topics:
- Marlo’s 101 (Wardrobe Must-Haves, Style Basics)
- Fashion Education (Color Theory)
- Personal Style Tips (Accessorizing for Your Personality)
- Professional Stylist Secrets (Pulling for Client/Securing Wholesale Prices)
- Shopping on a Budget (Put an Outfit Together for Under $100)
- 5-Minute Outfit Makeover (How to Revamp Any Look on the Go)
Marlo has since hosted this seminar in Atlanta and Houston! It would be an understatement to say fashion enthusiasts around the world are anticipating her next stop. North Carolina, maybe? In the meantime, catch Marlo on Marlo’s Closet, a YouTube series curated by the style maven, where she has more style tips, Girl Talk, special guests and champagne!
Great read. A fashion course with Marlo would certainly be a treat for the carolinas
